If playing another character from the same canon, how will you deal with this?: This is only to be used if are already playing another character from the canon you are applying for. For example, if you are apping Mario and you already play Princess Peach in the game, how will you handle their interactions without playercesting? Depending on your answer, you may be refused the character you are apping for.
I wouldn't have them interact. They wouldn't know anything about the other and if they did it would be through each other's friends, that's it. But I'm not going to app anyone else, so I think we're good.
Personality:
One of the first things someone might notice about Eridan would be how dramatic he is. Some might even call that whiny, but he isn't really a cry-baby or a "woobie"; He's spoiled and used to being treated as such. A good way to look at it would be the stereotypical rich kid syndrome. With his dramatic antics he has a sort of "Poor Me Complex." He's got a lot of self pity for the way others treat him and makes this apparently known in many conversations.
Despite how lowly he treats almost all the other trolls, all he really wants is for someone to understand him. As cheesy and romantic as that sounds, he really just wants friends. He expresses his loneliness and wish for friends to Karkat before he tries to reason Feferi into going with him to Jack. He even goes as far as to ask/complain about why no one ever visited him back on his world.
Eridan is the stereotypical hipster of Homestuck. His fashion sense is pompous and attention grabbing or "Edgy." His bloodcolor, violet is dyed into his hair and he wears a cape that matches in color. Making it obvious that he is trying to impress other with his fashion and his blood color. He also wears a scarf and hipster glasses to further draw attention to himself.
His hobbies include history, he is a large history buff. He is shown to study his ancestor, this is probably what lead to his and Vriska's black romance. He also seems to enjoy doomsday devices and often professes his hatred for land dwelling trolls and how he is going to kill them all (Despite the fact that he feeds Feferi's lusus to keep her from releasing the vast glub and wiping them all out). He is also into flarping, his flarp character was named after his ancestor "Orphaner Dualscar."
Eridan is one of the more emotionally unstable and violent trolls. His violent tendencies are touched on gently throughout homestuck. How he duels with Sollux twice, how he hunts to feed Feferi's lusii, how he always threatens to want to wipe out all land-dwellers. Then later on after he snaps and blinds Sollux and kills Feferi and Kanaya.
In troll society there is what is called a hemospectrum. Trolls' blood colors determine their social status. One is regarded respect based on their blood caste; lower down, the reds, oranges, yellows are considered lower classes. These lower classes have shorter life spans and are often killed by higher bloods. They are seemingly less violent and some have special abilities (example: Sollux’s Psionics). Green up to blue is considered middle class and having an ability with these blood colors is extremely rare. Purples onwards to fuchsia are considered royalty and are often the trolls with the more violent tendencies and emotional problems often needing moirails of a lower caste to keep them calm. It is also stated in canon that psychics don't affect higherblooded trolls in the purple.
Eridan lands right on violet colored blood, the second highest blood color a troll can have. This leads to his arrogance and his emotional and violence problems. He does not respect many of the other trolls at all. He obviously respects Feferi, most likely due to both his infatuation with her and her high status. He also, oddly, seems to respect Karkat and Terezi, never seeming to get too nasty with them and even going to Karkat for advice.
If Eridan gets any ounce of power, he lords it over others and abuses it. His blood color is a prime example of that, he tries to demand respect and demean others because he is considered higher than them. Another example would be his weapons; when he has Ahab's crosshairs he is described by Karkat as "Triggerhappy" and when he has his Science Wand he uses it to kill two of his friends and blind Sollux and makes threats with it left and right.
A great way to sum Eridan up is to say that he is a thirteen year old kid that doesn't know how to deal with stuff. For example, he falls into a pale romance with Feferi instead of a flushed one because he doesn't know how to express to her that he likes her. This is shown in the comic when she finally badgers it out of him due to him being shy with her. It is also the reason he hits on basically everyone; he doesn't know how to deal with losing all his quadrant mates in pretty much the span of a week or two. To trolls filling your quadrants is a very important thing, it often decides if a troll gets to live or die when the drones drop by. Eridan lost his black romance with Vriska and also his pale romance with Feferi. This is most likely both incredibly startling to him and confusing. Startling for stated reasons above and confusing because he is royalty and people should be throwing their pails at him in his opinion. He of course resorts to trying to refill his quadrants by hitting on other trolls, because that would fix it all, right? A third example of how he doesn't know how to deal with things is how he tries to impress everyone with his royalty because society says they should respect him, it is simply his bloodright. That is why he throws it about and tries to earn the respect he thinks should be due. This, of course, is his way of trying to deal with being insecure and wanting to be liked.

What the finflippin' fuck is goin' on here?! No one ewer told me that those poppycock transporters could be sendin' ya anywhere! This has gotta be some sorta joke! If it is, whoewer is playin' it needs to realize just who they're messin' with here!

Third Person: They didn't understand, none of them ever did. But OF COURSE they didn't, they were low-blooded landscraper scum, how COULD they understand? This thought brought a somewhat dramatic sigh from his black lips. If anyone would understand, it'd be Fef. She wasn't like the rest of the common-senseless uncultured filth.
Those were his exact thoughts as he marched down the hall that lead to the transportilizer to the lab. He knew for a long time there was no hope here, no hope for him, probably no hope for them. So his plan was to save himself and her. She had to realize this too; she is of ruling class. She had to realize what the right course of action was.
Jack was so much stronger than all of them, himself included. EVEN he knew his limits! Fighting those damned angels taught him that. This running away and fighting was pointless, hopeless! Maybe they'd survive if he let them join him, serve him.
Whoever said that you can improve only after everything has screwed up was one pandead idiot!
